From 3 November 2011 to 26 November 2011, be swept away by one of The Royal Ballet’s signature works, Manon – a tale of corruption, love, avarice and disgrace. A three-act ballet choreographed by Kenneth MacMillan and based on a novel by Abbé Prévost Manon.
The passionate musical score, drawn from Jules Massenet, is conducted by Martin Yates, while the rich stage design evokes life in the 18th century.
The Heartbreaking Tale of Manon
Manon tells the story of the beautiful Manon, who is torn between her love for student Des Grieux and the comforts of being the kept woman of a rich man.
Follow her devastating fall as she goes from innocent young girl to Parisian courtesan and, finally, deported Louisiana fugitive.
